Result for Matchplay League 16th Jan 2012

Many issues faced us as we reached the halfway stage of the Murcia League. Not least the weather with the forecast predicting 33mm of rain it looked as if we would have to cancel for the first time in the five years due to weather conditions.However the tee time arrived the skies had cleared all was set to do battle.
As i have often said who if any was going to stop last years champions from winning again.Well in the top game Diamontes faced last years runners up Roco Gogs without their talisman pairing of carmillius Fitzpatrick with his partner John Osbourne having to play with a new partner. For The Gogs Their top team was also disrupted with the omission of Terry Lewis so things looked very interesting.Enter the nearly Man Roco Gogs captain Mo Flint Who Nearly had a Hole In One at the seventh (won nearest the pin) & on the last hole had a put to win the match .
That miss meant that the game was drawn 20pts each. Our next Match was a fairly easy win for Sensol over S P crew by29pts to18pts .next into the fray second placed Seirra Golf took on home based San Javier only to lose 25ptsto 19pts.Bottom Placed Hacienda met Roda Golf who racked up the highest score of the day with a 33pts to16pt win for Roda.Last out La Manga & Camposol fought out a middle of the table contest with the rapid improving men from Camposol running out winners 24pts to 17pts.All & All the positions in the league take on a very close order it reads as follows
Diamonties 1st with 147pts
Camposol 2nd with 130pts
Roco-Gogs 3rd with 129pts
Sensol = 3rd with 129pts
Seirra Golf 5th with 128pts
La Manga 6th with 121pts
San Javier 7th with 119pts
Roda Golf 7th with 119pts
S P Crew 9th with 99pts
Hacienda 10th with 97pts
So to the next game which will take place on the 13th of Feb @ Paraleja Yours Alex Mclennan

Results from Matchplay League on 12th December

Results of Murcia League Match @Las Ramblas on a bright & sunny day in December we played our first game to be played at the very tricky Las Ramblas course which was in excellent condition . In the first game Roco-Gogs last years runners -up met Roda Golf resulting in a win for the Gogs by 32pts to 17pts.On a sad note we heard of the death of Trevor Brown a very active member of the Roco-gogs league team aged 75 & though not keeping very good health of recent years still played of a H/c of13 .R I P. Trevor. In our second game last years champions Diamontes Took on San Javier who gave a very good account of themselves but eventually going down 27pts to 19pts Next up Seirra Golf who despite having a player short due to illness kept the game close & retained their second position in the league despite losing to a strong La Manga team 34pts to21.Next into the fray a very Sprightly Crew to take on the might of the Alimo the result a win for Hacienda over the S. P. Crew 34pts to 19pts.In our last game Camposol Amigos met Sensol with the amigos winning 35pts to 19pts.
The table now reads
Diamantes lead with 126pts
2nd Sierra golf with 109pts
3rd Roco-Gogs on 108pts
4th Camposol on 106pts
5th La Manga have 104pts In
6th Sensol 100pts
7th San- Javier 94pts
8th Roda-Golf 86pts
9th S. P. Crew & Hacienda 81pts each.

November Matchplay League Results

Hi Guys
Here is the results of the third game in the Murcia Match play League which as well as being the best priced is becoming the most fiercely fought league. the format is simple & easy to understand allowing the players to help each other win each hole.
So to the results Diamantes last years champions met last years bottom club S P Crew & on this occasion were too strong for the guys from the south running out winners by 40points to 17.Next up Hacienda took on near neighbours Camposol this was a closely fought game with the Amigos beating the guys from the Alamo 25pts to21pts.
In our next game both teams share the same home venue but if that meant that it would be a nice friendly game then they were wrong Roda under their new Captain Andy Baxter well beat the much fancied San Javier 31pts to 16pts.The next surprise was the normally steady La Manga going down to Sensol by 28pts to21pts .
Our last game was between this years surprise packet Seirra golf & last years runners up Roco-Gogs although it was a close game Roco-gogs took the bonus points to win by 28pts to 21pts. Its left me breathless & I wasn't. playing .
Next Game is at our latest venue Las Ramblas on the 12th of December. Cant wait for this on.
